Mildred Shulman, a trained New York artist, is a graduate of the School of Industrial Arts, and studied at the Art Students League, the MacDowell School of Art, and New York University. Her original paintings, sculptures, lithographs, and Giclées are in many private and corporate collections.

Her self-portrait was featured in American Artist where she is quoted as saying “my work runs the gamut in style and subject matter.” She has received accolades for her sculptures and designs in The New York Times, Greenwich Village News, Gentlemen’s Quarterly, Cue, Interior Design, Home Furnishings Daily, and many others. An American born artist, Ms. Shulman is honored to be included in Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in America, and Who’s Who in the World.

Ms. Shulman has exhibited at the Salmagundi Club, NYC, The National Arts Club, the Art Students League, and her own gallery, Gallery Luminere that she ran for 25 years and closed in 1993. Today Ms. Shulman also exhibits her work in her Greenwich Village studio by appointment only.

Artist’s Statement:

I am fortunate to be able to spend my life doing art and that many who admire what I do collect it. In the words of Henri Matisse I sum up my artistic philosophy: “What I dream of is an art equilibrium, of purity, of tranquility, an art free of disquieting or bothersome subject matter, an art which will calm and soothe.”
